An IOR classic

LIMFJORD - ANHOLT - SAMSOE
After our LIMFJORD project had failed in 2019 due to the weather, we hoisted sails again for Limfjord in 2020 - and this time it worked. From Helgoland we went to Thyboron and from there to the city harbor of Lemvig. If you like oysters, you should stop over in Glyngoere and try the local oysters there - they are fine and a rare commodity since they are not exported. Previously, we turned to starbord before we reached Soenderhuse and anchored on the north side of the almost round “pond” at the end of this bay in front of the golf club. Was pretty too.

After we passed Nyköbing, we turned right and headed south around Stenoere and from there headed NE and then E around the long narrow headland of Livoe to the “harbor” there. It's more of a jetty, very small, but you can also anchor there easily. This tiny island is also worth a visit, a nice walk, and there is a nice little beer garden in front of the Koebmand.

From Agersund on it gets narrower and we had the wind eight on our bow, but SNIFIX tacked easily with her selftacking jib (sometimes faster over ground than others who decided to drop canvas and run under engine), which was great fun. There are also a few places where you can anchor, but the conditions weren't good, so we stayed overnight in Attrup. This small harbor isn't assessed very well in the harbor manual - but we found it really lovely, you're just in the middle of nature. The next day we had a lot of fun again with the narrow cruise in the winding fairway just before Aalborg, and we stopped there for lunch.

To return to Kiel we sailed via Anholt to Samsoe and then along the Lille Baelt - and this cruise was just brilliant.

We made our way to Samoe via Ebeltoft - and turned left into the museum harbor. Ebeltoft is really pretty and you can have a great meal there too. The restaurant in the museum is worth a visit, and then you have Stockfleth’s restaurant at the fishing port. And the place itself is great for strolling around, and we also liked the glass museum.

From Ebeltoft we sailed westwards to anchor in Knebel Vig, a beautiful spot on the southwest bank – a pure idyll. Sailing south then towards Samsoe we skipped Aarhus because we couldn't do everything - we'll look there next time. At Samsoe we went to Langoer – no comment needed, great.

From there we continued to the tiny islnd of Tunoe, only a few miles west of Samsoe – also a little gem! We had anice hike on the “country road” (there is no car traffic) to the western tip of the island and then back again along the cliffs on the southern edge of the island - great fun. And if we consider to be buried somewhere finally, it should really be on Tunoe. They have a church whose tower is also the lighthouse, surrounded by a lovely and meticulously maintained little cemetery, it's delightful. And there's actually a brewery on this little island - definitely to be stocked up, delicious stuff. Greenery is available at the harbor from the trailer of “Lise-Lotte & Hans” and the fish shop is of course also a must.
We spiced up our tour through the Lille Baelt with a detour to the Genner Bugt - that was also nice. And finally after the passage of Alssund we always like to go towards Hoeruphav, but this time we went very far into the bay to anchor in front of Traenge. Also a nice alternative.
